Dear Friends and Supporters,
As the director of The Crowns Project, I am reaching out to share an update on our journey and to appeal for your continued support. When I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, it became clear that awareness and early detection were not receiving the attention they deserved. This realization spurred the creation of The Crowns Project, which I aim to be synonymous with being a beacon of hope and information for prostate cancer prevention in Ohio.
Prostate cancer remains the second leading cause of death among men, touching not only those diagnosed but also their families, relationships, and communities. It impacts businesses too, affecting healthcare costs and employee well-being. Yet prostate cancer disturbingly lacks the widespread recognition and gravitas that it deserves as many men remain unaware of the critical importance of early testing and its prevalence.
Our mission has been to bring the conversation to where men are, making it as accessible and engaging as possible instead of expecting them to find us.
Thanks to the encouragement from folks across the state, and the generous support from conscientious companies, healthcare providers, academic institutions, and private individuals, we will be able to make strides toward our goal.
Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans to expand our reach and deepen our impact. We are committed to ensuring that every man understands the risks and the vital need for early detection and treatment. To achieve this, we need your help.
Please join us in this crucial fight against prostate cancer. Spread the word, support our initiatives, and help us save lives by promoting proactive health measures. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless men and their loved ones.
With gratitude,
Anton (Joao-Luiz) Allensworth
Director, The Crowns Project
